About

The Virtual Realities class at the School of Arts Kassel approaches the concept of “virtual reality” from an expanded perspective, encompassing the moving image, photography, sound, installation, and other time-based formats. Research-based projects, multi-channel and multi-media formats, and experimental narrative works make up a large part of the artistic work undertaken in the class. Students are encouraged to develop their own position at an early stage – through their own artistic research and in a critical examination of contemporary discourses.

The Virtual Realities class is lead by Prof. Bjørn Melhus. The artistic associate for the Virtual Realities class is Angela Anderson.
